Product Introduction

The Type 1 Submarine Chaser Special Task Boat, with 200 built, was the largest number of its kind in the Japanese Navy. The prototype was constructed as part of the 1939 War Preparedness Promotion Plan. The Naval Shipbuilding Headquarters completed two small wooden submarine chasers with the cooperation of Ichikawa Shipyard in Ise-Ominato, which had extensive experience and advanced technology in the construction and repair of wooden ships.
