Woody Joe 1/150 Matsue Castle Wooden Model Assembly Kit
Matsue Castle, also known as "Plover Castle," was located in Tonomachi, Matsue City, Shimane Prefecture.
It was completed in 1611 by the first lord, Yoshiharu Horio, over a five-year period. The castle tower still stands, and it was designated a National Treasure in 2012.
The castle ruins are also designated as a national historic site.
Built on Kamedayama Mountain on the northern shore of Lake Shinji, it is one of Japan's three great lake castles.
Located in what is now Tonomachi, Matsue City, Shimane Prefecture, it is a flatland-mountain castle with a contoured, multi-walled complex, with the Ohashi River as its outer moat.
The structure is surrounded by a moat around the main enclosure, a central enclosure to the east, a north-side enclosure to the north, a rear enclosure to the west, an outer enclosure running from east to south, and a second enclosure running from west to south.
A lower third enclosure is located south of the second enclosure.
