It was in 1960 that Richter unveiled his mysterious veil and began his active performance career in the West. Over the next five years, he toured Europe and the US, creating a sensation and winning immense popularity. These three pieces were recorded in Salzburg in 1966. Their vibrant pianism and clear, light touch, supported by astonishing concentration, eloquently demonstrate Richter's maturity.
