Pit-Road 1/700 Skywave Series Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force Destroyer FFM-8 Yubetsu Plastic Model Kit J112
The "Mogami" class, designated 30FFM, is a multi-functional mine warfare frigate equipped with mine-counter sonar, autonomous underwater vehicle (UUV), and unmanned surface vehicle (USV) for mine clearance. It is a state-of-the-art destroyer specializing in mine-sweeping missions against advanced mines.
The first ship, "Mogami," entered service in April 2022 (the second ship, "Kumano," entered service first). Construction and commissioning continued smoothly, with the seventh ship, "Niyodo," entering service in May 2025, and the eighth ship, "Yubetsu," in June of the same year.
These two ships are equipped with VLS (Vertical Launching System) from the time of commissioning, whereas previous ships were to be equipped with it later.
