About Marukyu Koyamaen: Marukyu Koyamaen began in the Genroku era when its founder, Koyama Kyujiro, cultivated and manufactured tea in the Uji Ogura area, which was suitable for tea cultivation.
Since then, generations have strived to improve the tradition and quality of Uji tea, and in the fourth generation, they began to handle tea sales as well.
Later, during the Meiji era, Motojiro, the eighth generation to take over, expanded the business nationwide.
This "quality-first tea-making" approach is carried out consistently from cultivation to manufacturing, and has earned Marukyu Koyamaen numerous awards and accolades, making it widely known to many as a brand of high-quality tea.
