Yakushigama May Doll Boys' Festival Nishiki-sai Young Warrior (Naginata)

Total length: 10.5cm Tango no Sekku is a familiar festival known as Children's Day. It is said that it became a festival for boys as it is today during the Kamakura period. Iris, believed to be a medicinal herb that wards off evil spirits, is also associated with martial arts (respect for martial arts), and so it became established as a festival for boys. May dolls are filled with wishes for boys to grow strong and healthy, and for the prosperity of the family, but Yakushigama's May dolls can also be enjoyed as seasonal decorations, featuring figures such as Momotaro and Kintaro.
